Well, where to get started! The idea of the farm came when my mother-in-law found wild Hops growing on her property! This gave me the idea of starting a small Hops Farm! I was then on a quest to find as much information and knowledge to get started. It was about an 8 month process before I decided to move forward with the farm. There is so much more that I need to learn, than actually growing Hops. I did a lot of research around starting the actual business. There will be many more posts on that too! Over all, it wasn’t too difficult and I’ve met a number of wonderful people along the way.
At this point the Hops yard is still being assembled. I’m currently working on getting the poles ready for the Hops yard. I’m having to debark the bottom 5 feet and will be coating it in order to help protect it while it is in the ground. I have a little ways to go before I can start planting. I’m not just waiting on good weather. I’ve also been busy planting the vegetable gardens!
Plus, the bass fishing tourney season is starting in the next week, so that will take me away from the farm for a bit.
Thanks CR Hops Farm
